Robotics

At Midwest Machine, we are here to meet your Robotic needs.

We specialize in every aspect of robot management:

Programming: We design and implement precise robotic programs to ensure optimal performance and integration into your existing operations.

Service: Our team conducts regular maintenance and servicing to keep your robots running smoothly and efficiently.

Troubleshooting: We can swiftly identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

Efficiency

Robots can perform tasks faster and more accurately than humans; they can operate around the clock without fatigue, and streamline time-consuming processes which can increase the efficiency of production lines.

Quality

Robots can reduce errors by ensuring consistency and precision.

Waste Reduction

Robots contribute to minimizing various forms of waste such as transportation, inventory, motion, wait time, overprodution, overprocessing, and defects leading to increased productivity and efficiency.

Cost

By taking on risky and labor-intensive jobs robots can lower labor costs. They also help cut warehousing expenses by enabling on-demand production rather than large-scale manufacturing.

Safety

Robots are ideal for hazardous tasks such as lifting heavy objects or working with dangerous materials, protecting operators from potential injuries and health risks.

Advanced Palletizing System: Powered by Robotics

Midwest Machine’s Staubli 6 (six) axis, sanitary robot, is the ideal solution for many of the tasks associated with the beef, pork, and other food processing industries.

Some of those tasks include:

  • Product placement in trays or packaging material

  • Food safety or intervention steps in processing where repeatability and efficacy are important

  • Hock/hoof removal

  • Palletizing boxed product

The Robot is IP 67 rated, and does well in all washdown environments, hot or cold temperatures, and is supported by Midwest Machine’s highly competent programmers and technicians.

Controls

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

We are capable of doing programmable logic controller (PLC) migration from obsolete equipment. When planning an upgrade, it's essential to clearly define your goals and requirements. Start by identifying the specific benefits you aim to achieve and the features you need to meet your objectives. A well-planned upgrade is typically more cost-effective than an emergency fix, which often involves unplanned downtime and higher costs. By planning ahead, you can streamline the process, minimize disruptions, and optimize your investment.

Benefits of upgrading your PLCs:

Saves your equipment from obsolescence

Reduces downtime

Increase processing power and response time

Increases functionality

Offers flexibility for remote access

Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)

As the point of interaction between humans and machines, human machine interfaces (HMIs), play a very important role in our automated machines. Our automation technicians are qualified to customize HMIs and rebuild projects for obsolete variants. With a distinct and direct plan, we can build a simple, clean, intuitive design to best optimize user experience.

Vision & 3D Imaging

Machine vision with machine learning blends computer vision and AI to understand and analyze visual data. This combination allows systems to learn from images and videos, performing tasks like object detection and image analysis without needing detailed programming for each scenario. It helps machines interpret visual information similarly to humans, transforming industries such as manufacturing, self-driving cars, and healthcare.

Midwest Machine is using Intel Real Sense Cameras to navigate and advance their game in the animal processing industry. We are working on cutting edge technology to simplify the carcass grading system using AI. This is just one of the many examples that show how computer vision systems can benefit you and why you should look to Midwest Machine to help you in this endeavor. The possibilities are endless. We can program systems for cap and box detection, locate a specific marker, or find and read barcodes on any given product.
